Telangana government has decided to impose 10 day lockdown in the state from 10 am to 6 am

fter a cabinet meeting, Telangana government has decided to impose 10 day lockdown in the state from wednesday. The lockdown will come into effect from 10 am of may 12. Lockdown will remain from 10 am to 6 am of second day. There will be only 4 hours relaxation from 6 am to 10 am.

On tuesday afternoon, cabinet meeting has been held by the telangana government amid the surge in Covid-19 cases. Covid-19 pandemic is getting worsen in the country. Decision about the lockdown has taken in this meeting. It has also been decided to invite the global tenders to procure the Covid-19 vaccines.

Telangana government has given 4 hours relaxation from 6 am to 10 am for all type of shops and markets. People can do their important works during these hours. After 10 am, all shops will remain closed till 6 am of second day. Detailed guidelines about the lockdown are expected to be released later today.

 Pros and cons of the lockdown has also been discussed in the meeting. It has also been discussed that lockdown didn't fully control the pandemic in certain states where it has been imposed. According to the CMO, adverse impact of the lockdown on the ongoing paddy procurement was to also  discuss in the meeting.

 'The state cabinet has decided to impose lockdown in the state from 10 am on may 12 (wednesday) for ten days. However, there would be relaxation for all the activities from 6 am to 10 am daily. The cabinet also decided to invite global tenders for the procurement of the vaccine.', CMO tweeted on tuesday afternoon.

The state cabinet has taken this decision after witnessing 4,826 new cases and 32 deaths on monday. Now, the death toll has reached at 2,771 and the test positivity rate stood at 7.6 percent in telangana.
