Google honours Hollywood Icon Shirley Temple through animated doodle

She retired from the hollywood at the age of 22. She also served as US ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia.

 

Google doodle honours American actress Shirley Temple

On June 9,2021 Google honours Hollywood actor, singer, dancer and diplomat Shirley Temple through animated doodle. She also helped a millions of americans by becoming public servant.

On this day in 2015, the Santa Monica History Museum opened 'Love, Shirley Temple', a special exhibit featuring a collection of her rare memorabilia.

"Not only did Temple help millions of Americans through the hardships of the Great depression as Hollywood's top box office draw, but she also later shared her charisma with the world through her work in international relations", Google said.

Shirley Temple was born on 23 april, 1928 in Santa Monica, California. He was started taking dance classes just at the age of three. She became popular when she performed in 1934 musical 'Stand up and Cheer'. 

Till her 10 years, she did many films like Bright Eyes, The Little Princess, Heidi, Curly Top, The Little Colonel etc. She achieved Academy Award just at the age of six.

She retired from the hollywood at the age of 22 but she returned to television shows later and appeared as guest in many shows. After retirement, she became public servant and helped many needy people. In 1969, she was appointed as representative of United States to United Nations. In 1988, she published her autobiography Child Star.

She also served as US ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia and became the first female Chief of Protocol of United States. She achieved many awards during her life journey. She achieved Kennedy Center Honors and Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.

She died on 10 february, 2014 at the age of 85 in her home, California and was survived by her three children.
