Mohammed Shami becomes 11th Indian bowler to take 200 wickets in Test

 Mohammed Shami becomes 11th Indian bowler and 5th Indian pacer to take 200 wickets in Test cricket. Coincidentally, his both 100th and 200th wicket came on the same venue.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami becomes 11th Indian bowler to take 200 wickets in Test Cricket. He achieved this feat in SuperSport Park, Centurion in 1st test against South Africa on December 28, 2021. His 200th wicket came after dismissing Kagiso Rabada on day 3.

He is the 5th Indian pacer to achieve this target in Test cricket after Kapil Dev (434), Ishant Sharma (311), Zaheer Khan (311) and Javagal Srinath (236).

Jasprit Bumrah was off field due to ankle injury but Mohammed Shami didn't let India miss him. He bowled well deliveries which made difficult to play for the South African players.

Shami took 5 wicket haul by giving just 44 runs in 16 overs and it is his sixth 5 wicket haul in test cricket. With the help of Shami's 5 wicket haul, India restricted South Africa to 197 in first innings.

After this achievement, Mohammed Shami thanked everyone for the love and support. "A proud moment and to do it for the team here in Centurion 🏟️ is special 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ and counting Thanks to everyone for the love and support", Shami tweeted.

Indian cricket fraternities congratulate Shami on his this achievement. Former India player Mohammad Kaif praised Shami and said don't take him lightly. He is a heavy driver.
