There were not any much bindings in the law for the social media platforms, OTT platforms and news portals till now but now centre is going to make law for these platforms also. Centre issued the following guidelines:-

Social media platforms:-

If anyone would post any offensive material on the social media platforms, that person would be punished for atleast 5 years. After receiving the complaint about offensive material posting, social media would delete that post within 24 hours. This would be only in the cases of India's unity, peace, social security and anything offensive about rape. Post would be deleted especially in the case where anyone will post any offensive against any woman. Social media platforms would also required to provide information about who posted that first.

OTT platforms:-

According to the age there would be three  categories for OTT platforms. OTT would be required to provide parental control over their platforms. So that the parents can block that content which will not be good for their childrens.

Digital media would also be required to control like electronic media. Government will make separate agency for the news portals which would control the news content and can give instructions to them. Social media apps and platforms would be required to provide information about their privacy policy and user agreement.
