On wednesday, Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of India has published the data of january, 2021. According to this data, 96.4 lakh new subscribers have added in telecom sector. With this growth, total subscribers reached at 116.34 crore till 31st january, 2021.
Airtel has gained more subscribers than all other companies. 58.92 lakh new subscribers joined airtel in january. So, total subscribers of airtel has reached at 34.46 crore.
India's biggest telecom company Reliance jio also gained 19.56 lakh new subscribers. Now, Jio has total 41.07 crore subscribers. Reliance jio is facing agitation from the farmers. 74332 subscribers has quit the services of jio in punjab. Despite, jio is performing well in other states.
There is also a good news for Vodafone-Idea. From a few months, Vodafone-Idea was losing its customers rapidly but in january, it has gained 17.10 lakh new subscribers.
