Punjab government has ordered massive restrictions because of surging covid-19 cases in punjab. All educational institutions will remain closed till 31st march except medical and services colleges.
Education minister Vijayinder Singla said that all schools and colleges will remain shut and the exams of students are also being postponed.
After review meeting with the experts CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that multiplexes or cinemas, restaurants and malls will remain closed on sunday but the home delivery will continue. Only 50% sitting capacity are being allowed in cinema halls and only 100 persons can enter in the mall at any time.
In 11 districts of punjab where number of cases are surging, only 20 persons will be allowed in marriages and funerals. Social programmes are also being stopped by punjab government. Night curfew will remain from 9 pm to 5 am in these districts.
Captain Amarinder Singh also said that from next week, we need to keep silence on every saturday from 11 am to 12 pm and no one will run any vehicle in the memory of those who lost their lives because of coronavirus.
In 24 hours, 2460 new cases were found in punjab and total infected persons spiked to 207270. 40 patients have also died. 6264 total patients have died in punjab so far. On friday, 356 most cases were found in hoshiarpur. Most 10 deaths also happened here.
Most number of cases are finding in maharashtra. Rapid antigen test will be required in mumbai for entering in malls.
