Amid surging cases, Punjab government extends covid-19 restrictions till 10th april

n tuesday, Chief minister of punjab Captain Amarinder singh reviewed the covid-19 situation with chief secretary and other top officials. After this review, Captain Amarinder singh extends the covid-19 restrictions till 10th april amid surge in coronavirus cases. Another review will take place after 10th april, he said.

Punjab government will also start vaccination process in prisons because 40 women in patiala's nabha jail came coronavirus positive after test. Initially, some prisoners had been freed because of surging covid-19 cases.

All schools and colleges were closed by punjab government till 31st march except medical institutes. According to new guidelines, night curfew have been extended from nine to 11 districts including ludhiana, jalandhar and patiala.

Malls had been opened only for 100 persons at any time. Cinema halls can be opened only with 50% capacity. Night curfew will remain from 9pm to 5am.

Punjab government had also ordered to observe 1 hour silence from 11 am to 12pm every saturday in the memory of those who lost their lives due to coronavirus. No vehicle will ply during this time.

From all over the India more coronavirus cases are coming from six states including maharashtra and punjab. More than 50000 cases have been coming for 6-7 days in India. 

Coronavirus claimed 59 more lives in punjab on monday. Maximum 13 deaths were reported in jalandhar, following 11 in ludhiana and 10 in hoshiarpur.
