Dubai airport launched the iris scanner for the protection from covid-19

Dubai airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. New artificial intelligence feature has launched here i.e. Iris scanner. If anyone enters or leaves United Arab Emirates (UAE) , iris scanner will become the passport of passengers.

Government has attached the iris data with facial recognition database of the country, that's why passengers would have no need of personal identity and boarding pass.

This step has been taken for the protection from covid-19. This system eliminates physical contact with passengers.

With this technology, passengers get free in few seconds by completing formalities because iris scanner use to take only 5-6 seconds for this process.

But like facial recognition technology, this program adds to fears of destroying privacy in the country which has faced criticism for targeting journalists and human right activists.

Experts said that without more information about how data will be used or stored, this technology raises the possibility of misuse.
