After witnessing a rapid surge in covid-19 cases in delhi. CM Arvind kejriwal has taken a big step of weekend curfew in delhi. Weekend curfew will remain from 10 pm friday till 6 am monday. During this curfew, all shopping malls, gyms, parlours, spas, parks to remain closed. Restaurants will also remain closed only home delivery will be allowed.
Essential services and weddings are exempted from this curfew. Delhi government has already imposed 8 hours night curfew in the national capital. People can attend wedding during the night curfew only with the valid pass.
Cinema halls can run only with the 30% capacity. CM also said that over 5000 beds are still available for the covid-19 patients. So, there is no shortage of beds.
CM said that this is not the time of panic because essential services will remain open during the curfew. On wednesday, delhi reported highest single day spike of 17282 fresh covid-19 cases. The death toll in delhi climbed upto 111540 after 104 fatalities in 24 hours.
CM Arvind kejriwal announced these curbs after the meeting with lieutenant governer Anil baijal and health minister Satyendra jain and other top officials.
