Every year Father's day is being celebrated on the third sunday of june. This year, Father's day is coming on 20 june, 2021. This day is celebrated for thanking the father for all his love and support. During the childhood, father is just like superhero for the children who always provide them everything which they want.
This day doesn't come on the same date in all the countries. US, India and most of the other countries celebrate this day on third sunday of june but some countries like Portugal, Spain, Italy and Croatia observe father's day on march 19. In some countries, it is also celebrated in september.
History of Father's Day
First time, Father's day was observed in United States but with the passage of time, whole world started celebrating this day.
First of all, Father's day was proposed by Sonora Smart Dodd in US. Sonora had the five siblings and her father was the single parent who solely did upbringing of all his six children. He was the civil war veteran William Jackson Smart.
Sonora loved the way his father cares for the family. Looking at her father's dedication and support towards the family, she wanted to celebrate one day as a father's day. She wanted to celebrate this day on june 5 which was her father's birthday but due to the time constraints of the church, finally the day was started celebrating on third sunday of june.

Significance of Father's Day
Father's day is celebrated for recognising the sacrifices and efforts of the father towards the children. Father supports his children at every aspect of the life whether mentally, socially or financially. Most of the people know the importance of Mother but Father is also very important in the life of children.
Usually, mother expresses her love towards the children but father doesn't but from inside he loves and supports his children from depth of the heart.
This year, Father's day is coming amid the Covid-19 pandemic so we can't go outside for celebrating father's day but we can send wishes, messages, quotes and gifts to our father on the social media.
