Karnataka government has cancelled 2nd PUC exams and SSLC exams likely to be in july

arnataka government has decided to cancel the 2nd PUC exams and result will be declared on the basis of 1st PUC marks. 10th class or SSLC exams will be conducted in the third week of july with multiple choice questions.

With this decision, Karnataka becomes the first state which will conduct the 10th or SSLC exams. Most of the other states have cancelled the 10 class examination even CBSE and ICSE board has also cancelled the exams due to Covid-19 pandemic.

On june 4, 2021, Education minister of Karnataka Suresh kumar announced about the board exams to the media. He said 2nd PUC exams has been cancelled and result will be declared in the grades A, B and C on the basis of 1st PUC marks. Students who will not be satisfied with their grades, can give examination later when Covid-19 situation will have improved.

He also said that SSLC or 10th class examinations will be held in the third week of july. Examinations will be held on the basis of two components. Maths, Science and Social science exams will be clubbed in one exam and these three exams will be held on the same date. Each subject will cover 40 marks and total it will become 120 marks. On the another date, language examinations will be held. Three exams of language will also be clubbed and each subject will carry 40 marks. Total it will become 120 marks.

Education minister said that no student will be failed from these exams. Students health and safety is of utmost importance but there was non-availability of past data on which basis result should be decided. That's why this easy way of examinations have been decided. Examinations will be taken on the OMR sheets which will offer multiple choice questions. Model question paper will be submitted on the website shortly.

Suresh kumar said that 20 days before, the schedule of examinations will be sent to the students. Exams will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Standard operating procedures will be followed during the conducting of examinations and the health department's guidelines should be followed. Not more than 12 students can sit in one room for giving examinations. Social distancing must be ensured in the examination centres. Only vaccinated teachers will be invigilators for the examinations.
