Every year, July 4 is observed as death anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He was one of India's finest spiritual leaders. In the 19th century, he promoted hinduism across the globe. He is best known for his speech at World Parliament of Religion in Chicago in 1893 and the opening remarks of speech was 'My brothers and sisters of America.'

He also played a pivotal role in developing the Indian philosophies of Yoga and Vedanta in West. His brain or mind was very sharp. He remains the youth icon because of his achievements. He had also a deep knowledge in science and religion.

Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863 in bengali family. At that time, his name was Narendranath Datta. His father name was Vishwanath Datta, who was the attorney in Calcutta high court and his mother name was Bhubaneshwari Devi, who was the housewife. Swami Vivekananda was interested in spirituality and religion even from the childhood.

During his youth, he met an Indian mystic Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Swami Vivekananda was very impressed from his teachings. Later, he became the disciple of Ramakrishna. In the year 1893, upon the request of 'Maharaja Ajit Singh', he changed his name to 'Vivekananda.'
