Wimbledon 2021:- Ashleigh Barty fulfill her dream after winning Wimbledon 2021 championship. She beats Karolina Pliskova by 6-3, 6-7 and 6-3. With this, she bacame first Australian who wins Wimbledon championship in 40 years. She won her second grand slam title.
She has also won French Open in 2019. In Wimbledon's final, Barty didn't give any kind of opportunity to Czech Republic's Pliskova. First set, she won by 6-3. In the second set, Pliskova gave tough competition to Barty and won that set by 6-7 (4-7) tiebraker. Then in third set, Barty again gain her confidence and defeated Pliskova by 6-3. With this, she won her maiden Wimbledon championship.
Barty is the first Australian woman who won singles trophy at All England Club since 1980. Evonne Goolagong was the Australian woman who had won Wimbledon in the year 1980. Ashleigh Barty said that she is inspired from Evonne Goolagong and she wore an outfit at wimbledon which was a tribute to the dress Evonne played in when she won the tournament first time in 1971.
It was Pliskova's second grand slam final. She has also reached in final in 2016 U.S. open. Final match between top ranked Ashleigh Barty and Rank no.13 Pliskova was very interesting. Both players are played well but Barty has won the title. After winning maiden Wimbledon title, happiness can be seen on her face.
