World men's day is celebrated on November 19 every year. This day is celebrated to recognise the cultural, political and social achievement's of men for the nation, community, society and their families. This day also concerns about the men's well-being and health and to create a better and safer world.

There are six pillars of World men's day. First one is to promote the positive men role models so that other men take motivation from them. Second pillar is to celebrate men's positive contributions to society. Third one is to focus on men's health and well-being. Fourth is to highlight discrimination against men. Fifth pillar is to improve gender relations and promote gender equality and the sixth pillar is to create better and safer world.

The theme of World Men's day 2021 is "Better relations between men and women." There are different discriminations between men and women in different fields and it can be overcome only if men and women would have better relations.

First time, this day was celebrated by the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. In 1999, Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, who was the history professor in the university of West Indies, conceived to celebrate one day in a year to recognise the positive men role models. His father was also a positive and good role model. So, on the birthday of his father, he celebrated World Men's day on November 19, 1999.

World Men's day is celebrated every year just like the World Women's day is celebrated on March 8. Although Men's day is not officially recognised by United Nations despite it is celebrated almost in 80 countries. Everyone talks about the rights of women but rare people talks about men's rights. So, this is the day which puts light on these things.

No doubt, men remained superior over women from the ancient period but with the passage of time, things are changing. There are many laws created for women and for their protection which were necessary. But now-a-days, these laws are being used to trap even the decent and honest man. So, these kind of lies and traps should be stopped.

World men's day concerns not only for men but also for women. Promoting gender equality is must. Both men and women are the essential part of the world and without each other, they can't survive on the earth. Therefore, creating safer and better world is very important and it can be done by creating better relations between men and women.
