Superstar Rajinikanth turns 71 today December 12, 2021. He is regarded as one of the most popular actors of Indian cinema. On his birth anniversary, many celebrities, politicians and his fans wishing him on the social media.

Fondly known as Thalaiva, Rajinikanth received heartfelt wishes from his son-in-law and Tamil actor Dhanush. "Happy birthday my thalaiva !! The one and only SUPERSTAR RAJINIKANTH sir .. love you so much", Dhanush tweeted.

Prime minister Narendra Modi also wishes Superstar Rajinikanth. "A very happy birthday to @rajinikanth Ji. May he keep inspiring people with his creativity and phenomenal acting. May Almighty bless him with a long and healthy life.", PM tweeted.

Indian actor Mammootty shared photo with Rajinikanth and wishes him. "Wishing you a very happy birthday dear @rajinikanth. Stay healthy and blessed as always.", he tweeted.

Before coming into film industry, Rajinikanth was a bus conductor. He is the only Indian actor to be featured in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus, in a lesson named 'From Bus Conductor to Superstar.'

In 1975, Superstar Rajinikanth debuted in the Tamil cinema from the film Apoorva Raagangal, directed by late K. Balachander. He made debut in the bollywood in 1983 from the film 'Andha Kanoon', alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.

He received the Padma Bhushan award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016. He also received 'Dada Saheb Phalke award' in 2020, which is the highest award in the Indian film industry. Recently, he has been seen in the film 'Annaatthe', which was released on November 4, 2021.
