Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98, burial at 5 pm in Mumbai

The news of his death has been given by Faisal Farooqui on Dilip Kumar's official twitter account. Many celebrities and ministers are paying tribute to him.

 The great Indian cinema actor Dilip Kumar has passed away on wednesday after a prolonged illness. He was 98 years old. He was admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hinduja hospital. Dilip Kumar known to generations of film goers as 'tragedy king.' His funeral will take place at 5 pm Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.

He was admitted in the hospital on june 6 after the complaint of breathlessness. He was going in and out of the hospital for one month because of illness. The news of his death has been given by Faisal Farooqui on Dilip Kumar's official twitter account. He tweeted, "With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. - Faisal Farooqui"

Initially on monday, Saira Banu had told that Dilip Kumar's health is improving and keep praying for him but on wednesday morning he has passed away. Dilip Kumar did many hit movies during his career like 'Mughal-e-Azam', Naya Daur, Devdas, Ram aur Shyam etc. He did his last movie 'Qila' in 1998.

He has also received Dada Saheb Phalke award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan award in 2015 for his contribution to Indian cinema. He is listed in the Guinness World record for winning maximum number of awards as an Indian actor.

Many celebrities and ministers are paying tribute to him on twitter. President Ramnath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi, Amitabh Bachchan, Mamata Banerjee, Smriti Irani, Ajay Devgun and many other personalities mourning on his death.

President Ramnath Kovind wrote in the tweet, "Dilip Kumar summarised in himself a history of emerging India. The thespian’s charm transcended all boundaries, and he was loved across the subcontinent. With his demise, an era ends. Dilip Saab will live forever in the heart of India. Condolences to family and countless fans."

PM Narendra Modi tweeted, "Dilip Kumar Ji will be remembered as a cinematic legend. He was blessed with unparalleled brilliance, due to which audiences across generations were enthralled. His passing away is a loss to our cultural world. Condolences to his family, friends and innumerable admirers. RIP."

Amitabh Bachchan wrote in the tweet, "T 3958 - An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written , it shall always be 'before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar' ..My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss... Deeply saddened.."
