International Day of Peace 2021:- Theme, History and Significance of this day

 International Day of Peace is also known as World Peace Day. This day was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly.

International Day of Peace is also known as World Peace Day. It is celebrated every year on 21st September across the World. United Nations was established this day. World Peace day strengthens the ideals of peace through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

Maintaining peace across the World is very essential because without peace there is violence and anarchy which is not good for any country. Therefore, International Day of Peace promotes the non-violence and sustainability.

Theme of International Day of Peace 2021

Every year United Nations decide some theme on this day. This year year Theme is "Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world." UN invites everyone to join the efforts of its family as they focus on recovering better for a more equitable and peaceful world.

History of International Day of Peace

This day was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades later in 2001, date September 21 was fixed for this day. Since then World Peace Day has been celebrating every year. 

Initially, it was celebrated on the third tuesday of September.

Significance of International Day of Peace

Covid-19 pandemic has shown the importance of Peace to everyone. Due to the outbreak of this pandemic, anarchy spreads everywhere. Masks, sanitisers, social distancing, lockdowns, lost of jobs, fear of illness make everyone tensed and an internal peace of human beings lost. At that time, we realised that how important peace is in our life.

During this tough time, people started doing work unitely to tackle the pandemic. Many countries helped each other by importing and exporting masks, sanitisers, medicines, vaccines and many more at lower prices. It promotes peace among the countries.

"Peace begins with a smile", Mother Teresa said. Everyone loves smiley face but many people don't afford it. Truth, happiness and positivity are requied in life for achieving peace. With the Peace, everything can be attained but with violence, things turn more complex.
