Meta is the new name of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg announced

 Meta will be the new name of Facebook. It has been announced in the Facebook Connect augmented and Virtual reality conference. Mark Zuckerberg said that we are at the beginning of the next chapter for the internet.

The co-founder and Chief executive officer of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has changed the name of Facebook. Meta will be the new name of Facebook. It has been announced in the Facebook Connect augmented and Virtual reality conference.

There had been a news running for some days about the new name of Facebook and now it has officially announced its new name 'Meta'. Zuckerberg said that it will be the new evolution on the social connection.

Its vision is to help bring the metaverse to life. It is beyond the 2D technology and people can connect with friends, relatives for entertainment, games and work in 3D technology. It will not be just looking on the screens but the feeling of presence and reality.

Mark Zuckerberg said that we are at the beginning of the next chapter for the internet and the next chapter for their company too. In recent decades, technology has given people power to connect and express ourselves naturally.

In 2004, when facebook was started, mostly text was typed on the websites. When phones came with cameras, the internet became more visual. As connections got faster, video became a richer way to share experience. We have gone from desktop to web to mobile and from text to photo to video. But Zuckerberg said that this is not the end of the line. 

"The next platform will be even more immersive- an embodied internet where you are in the experience, not just looking at it. We call this the metaverse, and it will touch every product we build." Zuckerberg said.

Facebook is the parent company of Whatsapp, Instagram and Messanger. The new name of facebook will not affect these platforms and the names of these platforms will remain the same.

The trading of Meta will start from 1st of December with the new stock ticker MVRS. As we know, facebook is one of the largest social-media platforms and it has billions of users across the world. Zuckerberg said that he expects the 'Metaverse' to reach billions of people within the next decade.
