International Yoga Day 2021:- Importance and all you need to know about this day

In december 2014, United Nations General Assembly had declared june 21 as International Yoga Day. After a few months, Narendra Modi had proposed this idea.

International yoga day is being celebrated every year on june 21

India along with whole world is celebrating International Yoga Day today. It is being observed on june 21 every year. In december 2014, United Nations General Assembly had declared june 21 as International Yoga Day. After a few months, Narendra Modi had proposed this idea. The theme of this year's Yoga day is 'Yoga for wellness'.

Today is 7th edition of International Yoga Day. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, event of this year is televised programme which started at 6:30 am today. PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation and said that yoga emerged as a ray of hope in fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement on sunday, The Ministry of Ayush, the nodal ministry of International Yoga day, highlighted the importance of Yoga in our overall well-being, through various activities organised in the run-up to the national event.

Initially, people were not aware about the yoga but now people started performing yoga with full of enthusiasm. Yoga removes the stress and anxiety from the life of human beings. It becomes support of many people during the lockdown period.

Yoga includes Asanas, pranayamas and meditation. It keeps the body and mind healthy. It improves the immunity and makes the person free from sickness. 

Many celebrities do yoga everyday. It becomes the part of their life. Many celebrities has told that how yoga help them to come out of the depression. Yoga gives relexation to the mind and protects from overthinking. 

According to Ayush ministry, this day is being observed in 190 countries. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, gatherings are not possible so this year Yoga day would be celebrated virtually just like the last year. There is no much space required for doing yoga. Anyone can do it by laying mat in a limited space.
