rime minister of India Narendra Modi has cancelled the 12th CBSE board examination after crucial meeting with the Union ministers. This decision has been taken for the welfare of the students because they were suffering from anxiety. Meeting was started at 5:30 pm today. All the stakeholders in the meeting expressed their views about the exams.

This decision has been come at the right time for students. PM Modi tweeted, "Government of India has decided to cancel the Class 12th CBSE Board exams. After extensive consultation, we have taken a decision this is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth."

PM Modi said that decision on class 12th board exams has been taken in the interest of students. He also said that Covid-19 has put impact on the academic calender and the issue of board exams has been causing immense anxiety among students, parents and teachers which must be put to an end.

The health and safety of the students is of utmost importance and we can not compromise on this aspect, PM said. Students are the future of our country. CBSE will declare the result as per objective criteria.

In the high level meeting, state ministers, union ministers and other stakeholders were present. PM Modi also thanked them for giving their views. Just like last year, other option is also introduced in which students who want to give examinations, can give later when situation will improve. CBSE will conduct examinations of those students later.

From sometime, students were demanding the cancellation of exams on the social media. They were regularly tweeting to PM Modi about the cancellation of exams. This is also the main reason behind this decision. 

Other states will also take decision on the board exams as soon as possible. Maharashtra government and other states government will also look into this matter. They will  also hold meeting on the state board exams issue. There may be the chance of cancellation of state board exams too.
